In 2018, the State of Texas held its first official Women Veterans Day (WVD) celebration, in collaboration with the 70th Anniversary of the 1948 Women's Armed Services Integration Act. We experienced an amazing day of engaging events across the State.

The DFW Coalition intends to work every year to make this event a day that effectively engages and celebrates the history of all women who have and are serving in our military! We can only successfully do this, when we engage the collective voices of all our women in the military (active duty, reservist, retired, veterans and spouses); to this end, we are holding two Open Planning and Volunteer Sessions to solicit input from women in the military as well as our brothers-in-arms and patriots interested in joining the celebration.

NOTE: Women Veterans Day is not designed to separate us from our brothers-in-arms, it's designed to highlight the unique history of women who have and are serving in our military. A proud history of women devoted to securing means to actively support and defend our nation. This year, we will focus on educating ourselves and our communities about the struggles to serve and our often silent contributions by designing a program that allows women in the military to share their unique stories of service.
