CENTER & AMENITIES
We strive to be more than just a Center, but the "Center" for women veteran business success!
The Veteran Women's Enterprise Center (VWEC) is a national initiative designed to empower entrepreneur women associated with the military to scale for success. Our unwavering mission is to ignite their path to success by forging strategic alliances, harnessing public and private sector opportunities, championing groundbreaking research, advocating for essential services, and funding, all while offering a comprehensive array of personalized and professional resources.
Nestled within the esteemed Comerica BusinessHQ in South Dallas, the VWEC has undergone a transformative evolution, culminating in the launch of our highly anticipated NLBT 6-Month Coworking Cohort.
Our Founder/CEO VR Small developed the concept for the Veteran Women’s Enterprise Center (VWEC). Over an 18-month period she worked diligently with the Dallas VA Medical Center staff; as an full-time volunteer administrator, to design every aspect of the VWEC from: 1) our innovative and diverse co-working units, uniquely engaging color palet, and ergonomic seating; to our progressive conference center equiped with a ceiling to floor accorden wall divider, rolling tables and chairs to effectively faciliate various training modalities, networking, and business meetingsnas well as erasable walls; to our cafe lounge with a circular sofa, and cafe style decor designed to provide a relaxing atmosphere for networking and informal business meetings. We installed lockers, and had the wall designed to display our artist women veteran’s artwork.
During COVID, VR worked with Charter & Spectrum to have internet literally ran to the building, and individual internet connections setup in each area to ensure security, and the strength of the connection. In 2022, as we prepared to launch our in-person 4BusinessRecovery programming inclusive of our long awaited coworking cohort, our entire center was taken over by Ken Watterson, Executive Director, for the Vetean Homeless Services of Dallas, and renamed the Veteran Employment Center.
However, the essence of what this facility was designed to be, and heartfelt devotion to create a space for women veterans will always reside in the original beauty of this space designed by a female veteran for female veterans. The name may have changed, but the design speaks for itself, and it will always be, the original VWEC!
