You’re invited to VWEC's International Trade Cohort Webinar: Unlocking Opportunities for Women Veteran Entrepreneurs

🎉Exciting invite for women veteran entrepreneurs - join us for an exclusive international trade opportunity! 🌍

VWEC is excited to invite you to the launch of our International Trade Cohort during an information webinar scheduled for Wednesday, April 24th from 1:00-2:30PM CST. Register

Background:

The VWEC International Trade Cohort aims to empower women veteran entrepreneurs to seize global opportunities and expand their businesses internationally. Through a comprehensive program encompassing monthly training, one-on-one mentoring, and personalized international trade guidance, VWEC will ensure selected participants have access to the necessary providers, tools, and support to navigate the complexities of international trade.

Statistics:

In a 2022 report by the International Trade Council titled "Women in International Trade," it was highlighted that women are increasingly asserting themselves in the realm of international trade, challenging stereotypes, and contributing significantly to global economies. Entrepreneurship offers a vital avenue for women in trade, with women-owned businesses playing a pivotal role in driving economic growth and job creation.

Research indicates that companies engaged in international trade tend to employ more women, pay them higher wages, and offer better benefits and job security. Furthermore, trade has the potential to decrease inequality and expand women's access to skills and education, thereby fostering sustainable and inclusive trade practices.

A study commissioned by the Office of International Trade (OIT) found that minority and women-owned firms over-index in selling abroad, emphasizing the importance of supporting and empowering women entrepreneurs in international trade endeavors. With over 95 percent of the world's consumers residing outside the United States, international sales present a significant growth opportunity for small businesses.

To this end, Managing Monday will force on clear cut strategies, to help our main street small businesses develop their workforce.

Each quarter, we will focus on a issues important to you that will literally help you begin or enhance your business workforce. We’ll help you understand the ins and outs of human capital management, tax incentives, and other unique incentives that small businesses have over large corporations related to recruitment and retention.

This article Workforce Development and the Changing Labor Market outlines the element of workforce planning, development, and management making the note below that we often remind the entire business community of—the various values of hiring of Veterans.

In building a diverse workforce, consider not only factors like gender, ethnicity, religion, and sexual orientation, but also diversity of thought and past experience such as military service. Veterans are often considered top job candidates for nearly any industry, and many business owners want to support this community as they transition back to civilian life by employing them. Hiring veterans can earn business incentives, bring leadership to your team, and, given their extensive training, help bridge existing skills gaps within an organization.

In addition, in this article entitled The Future of Work from NTT DATA, key strategies are identified that businesses needs to understand, and address, in order to create successful recruitment and retention strategies for today’s workforce. We selected the three below:

Leaders must turn their attention to the human side of business, investing in data-driven talent strategies, skills for the future and driving change adoption. . . and

A people-centric approach to transformation is the answer. It decreases friction and drives motivation using strategies backed by behavioral science.

In the end, we conclude with a strategy our CEO consistently strives to acheive: a shared vision for success!

Profit Peak: Mastering Business Valuation for a Successful Exit

Hosted by: Xavier Egan

Profit Peak: Mastering Business Valuation for a Successful Exit

Main Points:

Business valuation forms the crux of a successful exit strategy, and understanding its intricacies is essential.

Entrepreneurs must consider their exit strategies seriously, even in rapidly growing companies, to avoid short-term success overshadowing long-term goals.

A comprehensive exit plan that optimizes business potential is crucial for a smooth transition.

Key Takeaways:

Business value extends beyond profitability, with non-financial aspects playing a significant role during an exit.

Multiple methods exist for valuing a business, including market cap, earnings multipliers, and book value among others.

Identifying and understanding key value drivers can help in accurate business valuation.

Challenges/Common Mistakes:

Many entrepreneurs overlook the importance of exit strategies, often focusing solely on short-term profits.

There's a common misconception that business value is solely tied to profits, neglecting other non-financial aspects that can impact value.
