Texas celebrated it first official Women Veterans Day on June 12, 2018, and across the State women veteran organizations, groups and sisters came together to celebrate. We were able to locate a few videos that provides a small preview of the joy and pride felt by women veterans and patriots across the State.
Remember Women Veterans Day is not a holiday, it's day to educate, validate and commemorate the contributions of women who have and are serving in our military. The VWEC is actively involved in ensuring each and every year, Women Veterans Day embraces more of our sisters in arms across the great State of Texas, bringing them out of the shadows and into the light!

Join us for an evening in celebration of the enormous contribution of women who have served in our military. The Women’s Armed Services Integration Act cracked the door for women to move from only being allowed to serve as wartime volunteers to becoming official paid members of the United States Armed Services.
A long journey to equity in military service was traveled to bring women where we are today!
