This month, they welcome as their keynote speaker, Denise Y. Mason, Community Relations Officer for BBVA Compass covering North Texas. Denise is known by her colleagues as an inspirational speaker, committed to engaging and strengthening women as leaders--making her an excellent speaker for their series.
Denise serves as the bank’s local champion in leading community relations programs and projects that support organizational corporate responsibility objectives for community outreach, reputation building and business development.
Denise also helps execute local charitable giving and volunteerism activities, providing support to the BBVA Compass Foundation, BBVA Compass Charity and BBVA Compass Volunteers. She monitors market level compliance with Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) guidelines and goals and works with local market executives to develop strategies to address CRA deficiencies.
Prior to joining BBVA Compass, Denise spent the last 20 years in Community Development and was responsible for the execution of a comprehensive regional community development program for several major banking institutions on the East Coast.
Professional and Community Activities:
Originally from Elmira, New York, Denise lived in New Jersey for 30 years before relocating to the Dallas, Texas area. She currently serves on the board of directors of On The Road Lending and The Real Estate Council Community Foundation Advisory Board, both in Dallas, Texas. She previously served as a NJ Commissioner for the Delaware River Port Authority and as board president for St. Joseph’s Carpenter Society (Camden, NJ) and NHS of Camden. Denise also served on the board of directors for 1st Bergen Federal Credit Union (NJ), Clarifi (PA), and Local Initiatives Support Corporation (Washington DC, New Jersey and Connecticut).
Education
Denise received her BS in Management Science from the State University of New York at Geneseo.
