The VWEC is thrilled to continue our new Trending Thursdays VW (Veteran Women) Connect Series. Join us as we talk about the variety of events, programs, and opportunities available to women veterans across the nation in an effort to keep them informed and connected to the resources they need to succeed.

We will be exploring the transportation industry and how women are making their moves in trucking.   • The association said of the 3.5 million truck drivers, only 10% of them are female. On average, women drivers drive more than 70 miles per month than men, and are 16% less likely to be in a crash.

  • By driving a truck, women can make the same amount of money as men, with salaries starting in the 40,000s and can go into the six figures if you own and operate your own company.

  • Women are getting into the trucking industry in record numbers. Ellen Voie, the CEO and Founder of the Women in Trucking Association, said females are statistically better.

My Own Lane Consultants provides guidance, especially to WOMEN trucking entrepreneurs, by educating them on how to make the RIGHT connections, understand FMCSA compliance, and access cash flow resources to be profitable within this TRILLION dollar industry. VR Small, knows how to turn vision into reality. As the founder and chief executive officer, for the Veteran Women’s Enterprise Center (VWEC), a national initiative to empower entrepreneur women associated with the military to scale for success. She testified for the original House Bill to make June 12, Women Veterans Day in Texas and participated in the Texas “I Am Not Invisible” Campaign.
