Today in partnership with Business Forward and Small Business For America's Future (SBAF), we welcome Aviva Aron-Dine, National Economic Council (NEC) Deputy Director and White House Director for Private Sector Engagement, Zach Butterworth, for a briefing on the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, that includes an extension of health insurance subsidies under the Affordable Care Act, the plan to lower prescription drug prices for families, and tackle the climate crisis. As well as updates on ways you can get involved and make your voice heard.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Aviva Aron-Dine,

Deputy Director,
National Economic Council (NEC)

Aviva Aron-Dine is the Deputy Director of the National Economic Council (NEC). She previously served as the Vice President for Health Policy at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities. She leads the Center’s work on Medicaid, the Affordable Care Act, and other health care issues, with a particular focus on policies to expand coverage and access to care for lower income people. Prior to rejoining the Center in 2017, Aron-Dine served as a Senior Counselor to the Secretary at the Department of Health and Human Services, with responsibility for Affordable Care Act implementation and for Medicaid, Medicare, and delivery system reform policy. Previously, she served as Associate Director for Economic Policy and then as Acting Deputy Director and Executive Associate Director of the Office of Management and Budget and as a Special Assistant to the President for Economic Policy at the National Economic Council, roles in which she contributed to the Administration’s work across a wide range of budget and tax issues. She also worked at the Center from 2005 to 2008, specializing in federal tax policy. Aron-Dine holds a Ph.D. in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a B.A. in philosophy from Swarthmore College.

 

Zach Butterworth,

Director, Private Sector Engagement,
Office of Public Engagement, White House

Zach Butterworth directs private sector engagement in the Office of Public Engagement, which is headed by former Congressman Cedric Richmond. In this position, Butterworth helps to promote the Biden-Harris Administration's agenda to the business community.

Prior to joining the administration, Butterworth worked at the law firm of Adams & Reese in New Orleans, Louisiana. Before that, he served as a senior aide to then-Mayor Mitch Landrieu and served as an aide to Sen. Landrieu. Butterworth, served as a senior counsel to Richmond during Richmond’s first three years in the House.
