Financial First Weekend Series - Series 2.

We are delighted to extend an invitation to our exclusive and highly informative Financials First – Weekend Series, designed to equip you with the essential tools and knowledge to master your business financials. In collaboration with American First National Bank, this program offers an unparalleled opportunity to receive hands-on technical assistance and one-on-one support, totaling 16 hours of interactive training spread across two Saturdays.

Throughout the series, our expert instructor will guide you through the intricacies of effectively tracking profits and losses, analyzing cash flow for consistent growth, and understanding and documenting equity and dividends. Moreover, you will gain invaluable insights into relevant financial ratios, and discover the significance of maintaining an up-to-date business plan.

By the end of this comprehensive program, you will emerge with a business financial outlook that is truly "BATTLE READY" to overcome any capital challenges that lie ahead. One of the highlights of the series is the chance to pitch your finances for one of three matching grants up to $1,000. These grants can be utilized to support your existing and/or to open new secured business credit card and/or lines of credit in partnership with a VWEC financial institution.

To ensure a highly engaging and personalized experience, our Financials First – Weekend Series is limited to a maximum of 10 to 15 attendees per session. This intimate setting allows ample time for one-on-one interactions, and engaging group activities.

As an attendee, you can expect to walk away from this program with the knowledge, skills, and ability to effectively communicate your financial standing, while developing a comprehensive financial package that positions you to access capital as needed for the growth and expansion of your business.

CRITERIA:

This is for the business owners, that knows she needs a deep financial analysis, help truly understanding her financial position, and strategies to strengthen that position to access current/future financial capital needs.

- Generating at least $50k in annual revenues, will consider a minimum of $25/20k (if continued business growth can be illustrated), the main point is that you have proven your business model via the fact that someone is actually purchasing your product/services;

- MUST be able to attend BOTH Saturdays (July 8th & July 22nd); the second Saturday is critical, and really illustrates the impact of the training, you must attend, and fully participate in both sessions. 

- MUST be willing to prepare a Pitch for the second Saturday, which addresses how you will apply techniques learned on July 8th to your business finances to address current/future capital needs. VWEC will provide a standard pitch deck and mentoring support.

- MUST understand that you will be contacted, and agreed to participant in one (1) mentoring session for a total of one hour within 30 days of completing the training to assess your continued financial needs;

- MUST understand that you will be invited, and agreed to attend one (1) group mentoring session for a total of one hour within 60 days of completing the training to assess the overall financial growth and continuing needs of the group;

MEET THE PRESENTER:

Michael Bailey is Senior Vice President, Chief Compliance Officer and Community Reinvestment Act Officer (CRA) for American First National Bank. In this role, he oversees the financial institutions’ Corporate Compliance Program and, coordinating with the legal counsel, is responsible for establishing standards and policies pertaining to regulatory requirements to help ensure legal, and proper conduct, for making sure these standards are communicated and institutionalized across the Financial Institution, and for monitoring the financial institutions’ compliance with these standards and policies. As CRA Officer, Mr. Bailey sets lending, investment, and community service targets and manages numerous activities required to achieve the financial institutions CRA objectives.

Before his current role, Mr. Bailey was SVP, Bank Secrecy Act Officer. He was responsible for coordinating and monitoring day-to-day Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering & Terrorist Financing compliance and charged with managing all aspects of the BSA/AML compliance program and with managing the bank’s adherence to the BSA and its implementing regulations.

Prior to joining American First National Bank, Mr. Bailey worked at Briggs and Veselka, where he was a Senior Auditor. In this capacity, he executed control testing focused on credit, operational, compliance, financial reporting and technology risk and for interviewing business process owners to create process documentation, executing test work, and independently documenting audit findings.

Mr. Bailey has more than 19 years of experience in the financial services industry. He received his BBA-Accounting degree from the University of Houston, Bauer College of Business.
