As women and veterans, we set high expectations for ourselves personally and professionally. At times, the lines between work and home blur or even overlap, especially as small business owners. The question is often asked, "Can we truly achieve everything we want, while still feeling balanced?"

We believe there is an answer, but different situations will required different strategies for success. We invite you to spend the evening with four amazing Veteran Women & Military Spouse Entrepreneurs as they share their journey and strategies for balancing work and life.

The Entrepreneur Balancing Act: Part 2., is brought to you as the signature soft opening event for the Veteran Women's Enterprise Center; which broke ground on June 12, 2017, and now opens its doors to provide business support to Veteran women entrepreneurs and the surrounding community. 

In honor of, and in collaboration with, the National Veteran Small Business Week Conference series, VWEC and LiftFund presents a Fireside Chat that takes a deep dive into common concepts and successful strategies for achieving work/life balance.

Lisa Marie Graves is an Air Force Veteran, leadership expert and transformational speaker, whose talents and leadership have been recognized throughout her career. Throughout her decorated military career, earning an MBA, and becoming a business owner herself, she learned to adapt to change and think strategically to thrive in each new setting. She received the AdvoCare Pioneer and Sparkling Gem Awards, Chamber Business Woman of the Year and most recently the Athena Leadership Award. She has been featured in Parker County Life Style Magazine and has spoken at several conferences. Her most important role is inspiring and guiding her two daughters as they enter “adulting” and transitioning to an empty nest with her husband, Michael of 20+ years.

Sametrius Ruben is a licensed Realtor with eXp Realty, consistently recognized by clients and colleagues for her focus, tenacity, honesty, and personalized service—she is committed to exceeding expectations with an around the clock focus on each client.  Client services include credit repair education with a continuous hands-on approach to the home buying process: present from start to finish! Sametrius’ work ethics are grounded in her life experiences; prior to earning her Realtor license, she served 13 years in the Texas Army National Guard and continuously upholds the same zeal and work ethic exemplified during her service. Sametrius and her husband are raising three beautiful girls and an ambitious son.

Mary Bruce, president of The Green Chemical Store Inc., has been a sales rep in the D/FW chemical supply industry for 39 years. Mary realized there was a shortage of environmentally-friendly chemicals available to the MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) sector. Her customers’ demand, coupled with increasing LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) projects, prompted Mary to offer a specialty line of chemicals to meet the needs of her clients and help to safeguard our environment. Mary founded The Green Chemical Store, Inc. in 2009 and she has continued to make available superior green formulas while providing a level of service and high-quality products that can’t be found anywhere else. Benetta Robbins, Navy Veteran, is an Independent Skincare Consultant with Rodan + Fields and part owner of two startup companies, PMII Investigations and Xcess Tactical Solutions. She is also a mom/step-mom of three teenagers and President of the Coppell High School Cheer Boost Club.
