VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

MONDAYS IN MOTIONS

(Sessions are consistently – 7AM-8AM, 11AM-1PM, 6PM-8PM)


MotivationMondays

1st Monday of each month focuses on motivational representations that empower and inspire (Ignite Inspiration, Lessons from Leaders and Motivational Moments

1 – Volunteer Presenter – Ignite Inspiration is focused on helping women veterans develop and make a personal spiritual connection

  • Small Group Leaders are invited to complete our online presenter form with an overview of their inspirational objectives and monthly outcomes- – Leaders are expected to commit to at least one quarter (3 – 1st Mondays)

3 – Volunteer Presenters – Lessons from Leaders’ ultimate goal is to form mentorship and sponsorship relationships that will aid in the enhancing the leadership skills of women veteran

  • Each lesson will include a themed panel discussion and interactive small groups - total event time 45 minutes – Leaders can be referred by our partners for these opportunities and are expected to commit to at least one quarter (3 – 1st Mondays)

2/3 Volunteers - Female Veterans – Motivational Moments is about overcoming transitional challenges, which could include divorce, abuse, unemployment, homelessness or taking a promotion.

  • Each session will have a specific theme, a panel discussion and then small group sessions with the presenters and support providers. Women Veterans presenters are only allowed to present at one Motivational Moment per quarter


Meditation Mondays

2nd Monday of each month focuses on exposing participants to a variety of meditation strategies (Morning Mindfulness, Methods of Meditation-Finding Your Fit & Body & Soul Action Meditation)

1 – Volunteer Instructors – Morning Mindfulness is focused on helping women Veterans start their day and week with a clear focused mind. 

  • Mindfulness Instructors are invited to complete our online presenter form with an overview of their mindfulness session strategies, objectives and monthly outcomes – Instructors are expected to commit to at least one quarter (3 – 2nd Mondays)

3 – Volunteer Instructors – Methods of Meditation-Finding Your Fit is designed to help each female find their preferred method of Meditation that will help them distress and focus on achieving their goals. 

  • Each session will focus on a specific type ofMeditation with a short discussion of outcomes and personal application - total event time 45 minutes

2/3 Volunteer Instructors – Body & Soul Action Meditation will focus on Meditation Strategies that involve movement.

  • Each session will focus on a specific type of movement for the quarter with regular discussions on personal application


Moving Mondays

3rd Monday of each month focuses on strategies to get and keep women Veterans moving in a way that promotes good health and overall wellness (Morning Move, Fast Fitness, Seasonal Sports program)

1 – Volunteer Leaders – Morning Move provides an early morning opportunity for women to get together and get moving in a safe supportive environment  

  • Volunteer Leaders are invited to complete our online form with an overview of their Morning Move session, objectives and monthly outcomes – Instructors are expected to commit to at least one quarter (3 – 2ndMondays)

3 – Volunteer Leaders – Fast Fitness is designed to illustrate how just a few minutes of focused exercise and energize your mind, body and soul.  Eventually, we will take this show on the road, dropping at various Veteran focused organization and engaging Veterans in these Fast Fitness Challenges for 10/15 minutes. 

  • Each month will focus on a specific Fast Fitness Strategy with a short discussion of outcomes and suggestions for personal application – 3 – 10/15 minutes session per hour

2/3 Volunteer Coaches/Referee – Seasonal Sports programs this is an opportunity for women to get involved in a team sport, which sports that will be offered are still be examined based on space, equipment and coaches.

  • Each event will last for a maximum of 2 hours


4th Monday of each month focuses on strategies to balance nutritional strategies with healthy cost effective meal options and cooking demonstrations for seasonal hot and cold meal preparation

1/2 – Volunteer Instructors – Breakfast First is focused on helping women veterans start their day and with a healthy meal. 

  • Breakfast First Instructors are invited to complete our online presenter form with an overview of their Breakfast First sessionstrategies, objectives and monthly outcomes – Instructors are expected to commit to at least one quarter (3 – 2ndMondays)

3 – Volunteer Instructors – Lunch on the Run is designed to help each female identify nutritional lunch options that will enhance personal health and performance. 

  • Each session will focus on a specific nutritional options, provide samples along with a brief discussion of outcomes - total event time 45 minutes

2/3 Volunteer Instructors – Dine on a Dime will focus on healthy cost-effective quick meal prep dinner options for singles and families. .

  • Each session will focus on healthy seasonal food options and include a food demonstration, samples and personal interactions with the Chef.
