WOMEN VETERANS: THE PITCH 2022 FINALISTS

Debbie K Womack is a proud US Air Force Veteran and a born and breed Texan. In the Air Force, she spent a tour living in the Orient, where she experienced the inspiration for her vision of do no harm and help people “Live life, naturally.”  In Japan, she learned about kokoro, an intrinsically linked oneness of heart, mind, and spirit. During her second tour in Europe, Debbie learned the importance of water for relaxing, restoring, and revitalizing these aspects of oneness, which eventually led to the name of her newest company, Mireaux Global Inc., meaning peaceful waters.  She inhaled the arts, science of technology and security while serving in the Air Force, which helped, set her civilian path as a C-level consultant.

As a consultant with the Thomas Group, Inc., Debbie led enterprise re-engineering programs focused on process improvements to increase shareholder value with Fortune 250 Companies in all industries. Taking this knowledge and experience she started her own consulting company Greater Yield, LLC. which provided the same type of services but to small and medium sized businesses.

Her professional career is filled with “firsts” and “awards.” Working on teams where she was frequently the only woman.  She is a seasoned senior executive of 25+ years’ experience, and is highly respected as an executive with excellent entrepreneurial skills as well as an accomplished builder of loyal and highly productive teams.

Debbie supports and gives back to the community by providing pro bono strategic consulting services to Non-Profit organizations within the Dallas/Ft Worth area. These efforts have been directed toward assisting arts organizations, helping veterans, women, youth and social-service agencies, and town visioning and strategic planning initiatives.

Debbie won the 2012 International Stevie Award for Women in Business Female Entrepreneur of the Year – Business Services, she is a member of Women’s Leadership International, and served on the White House Committee for US Small Business Association.  She was also on the co-founder and Advisory Board member of Mentors-In-Arms for the Dallas Rotary Club, which provided veterans with support and mentoring services for their businesses.

All of these opportunities taught Debbie how to live every minute of her life—working hard, playing hard, being positive, staying close to family and friends, and being open to learning new things. But it also has kept her in balance and close to her traditional conservative roots.

On a personal note, a highly active lifestyle combined with the long-term effects of a childhood accident began to take a serious toll on Debbie’s body. Pain management became the name of the game, joined by insomnia and lack of energy. To make matters worse, Debbie watched her loved ones’ experience daily pain with little to no relief.

One day, she came across a passage from Ralph Waldo Emerson’s Nature: “In the woods, I feel that nothing can befall me which nature cannot repair.” This became the basis of Debbie’s lifelong quest to find a better way to deal with pain, recover more quickly from injury, and reestablish her kokoro. She researched holistic and natural medicines and studied advanced technology applied to enhance nature. Eventually, Debbie found and spent three years learning the ins and outs of this “new” natural industry involving cannabinoids and ancient natural remedies.

When Debbie found the right products for her, a host of benefits resulted: her daily pain was greatly diminished, she felt more limber and stronger, her sleep improved, and she had more energy throughout the day. She shared her discovery with friends and family, and they began experiencing similar changes. Debbie decided to take her corporate experience and combine it with her journey to help herself and others heal, and established Mireaux Global Inc. in 2020.

Kelli Mumphrey is a proud United States Navy veteran who recognizes her life as a gift meant to be of service to others. In just two months after transitioning from active duty in 2014, Kelli and her husband received a few unexpected fast pitched curve balls. Kelli and her husband found themselves homeless with a one-year-old daughter sleeping on relatives’ couches and spare rooms, while expecting their second child. Grinding day in and day out, Kelli worked a 9 to 5 as a government employee, while serving as a Navy SELRES drilling reservist at Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth all while trying to be a present wife and a breastfeeding mother.

Always on the go, Kelli found herself in situations where she would resort to pumping and dumping her breastmilk in public restrooms, and in other places she felt were unsanitary, uncomfortable, and inadequate. Frustrated by the lack of access to convenient and sanitary public spaces to express breastmilk while away from her home, in 2018, Kelli created MilkSpace, LLC a business that provided outdoor public space operators and event organizers with a pop-up canopy lactation space to address the gap in outdoor breastfeeding amenity solutions.

In 2019, Kelli experienced two miscarriages. Turning her tragedy into triumph, Kelli took a leap of faith by making a life-changing decision to create her own narrative and entered the world of entrepreneurship full-time! Kelli left the security her government career and created another business, Realize Every Aspiration Can Happen (R.E.A.C.H.) Grant Consulting, LLC using her professional government skill sets to assist non-profits to apply for grants. Despite Covid-19, Kelli was able to continue to operate MilkSpace, LLC but as an e-commerce business with a social impact initiative to serve low-income Black women in their breastfeeding journey with business technical assistance from the Veteran Women’s Enterprise Center and the Dallas B.U.I.L.D. grant.

Kelli’s 2021 participation in the Dallas, Texas Impact Ventures’ Local Entrepreneur Accelerator Program (LEAP) and BIG win with the Veteran Women’s Enterprise Center’s 4BusinessRecovery Pitch competition enabled Kelli to refocus on the original purpose of MilkSpace, LLC, as a mobile lactation service on wheels! Kelli is now hard at work developing her Mobile MilkSpace fleet to be the #1 DFW business in demand to deliver premium mobile breastfeeding solutions for outdoor public space operators and event organizers.  Kelli is a proud H.B.C.U. graduate of Virginia State University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication (Public Relations). She has also earned two master’s degrees in Management and Entrepreneurship from American Military University.

Tiffany Jones-Lewis, a women’s fashion designer exclusively for Tall, was born in Memphis, TN. Her fashion journey begins at the age of 14 when her mother invested in her first sewing machine. Standing 6’1”, she became interested in sewing when she found it difficult to shop for clothing items that fit her tall frame.  Focused on everyday wear, she specializes in pants and jumpsuits for women 5’9” and taller. Her goal has always been to help women feel beautiful day to day without the stress of shopping.

She joined the military in 2011 and later finished her college journey online. She graduated with her business degree from the University of Memphis in 2016. This was the start of bringing her creative skills into an official business. So, begin the journey of TJL Collection, a brand named from her Father (Jones) and husband (Lewis) who pushed her to believe that she could start her brand. To further her skills, she went to Fashion School in Honolulu, HI.

Outside of fashion, she loves to connect with women through events. She has produced more than 10 fashion shows, hosts numerous networking events and hosts an annual vision board party and Tall Girl Meet Up. She believes that confidence starts from the inside and radiates out. There is power in women coming together.

Tiffany has a natural desire to continue to connect with woman and youth through fashion. She loves to meet people and grow with other creatives. Fashion is a way of life.
